“I like it how the teachers are friendly and always willing to help.  I enjoy going on the camps and there are always new and exciting things to do.  Carncot has good sports and the hockey team is great fun. It was good that so many of us got into the rep teams for hockey.”

North Island Jump Jam Challenge 2011

12 November, Auckland.
This was such an exciting adventure for girls, staff and parents.  Saturday was a very early start as makeup was applied, hair gelled back and costumes donned.  The Year 1-4 team performed Raining Men very well, especially as they were the very first dance of the day, and they were awarded a trophy for 5th!  Later that day, the Year 5 and 6 team danced with all their energy to Don’t Stop Movin’ in the largest category with 15 teams.  The top teams were fantastic and we did not manage a top five placing this year.

House Day

The school was buzzing with House spirit and pride as we gathered on the field for a shared lunch and exciting games.  Everyone put tremendous effort into their costumes and we looked great in their House colours.  Fun was had by the students and teachers alike and the parents who joined us on the day.  It all ran very smoothly and according to plan, especially the Jump Jam Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser that the Year 5 had organised.  As House Captains we thought it was a great day and we hope you all enjoyed.

Jump Jam

Two weeks ago, we received very exciting news that two of our three teams had qualified for the Jump Jam Challenge National Finals to be held in Auckland, in November. We had spent many hours rehearsing and filming the routines to enter this competition.

The Year 2-4 team qualified with their routine, Butterfly, and the Middle team earnt their place with their routine, Don't Stop Moving. Unfortunately, the Senior team had tough judging and missed out on qualifying this year.

Now the hard work and preparation have to begin!!  We have to modify and perfect the routines, coordinate costumes and makeup, and travel to Auckland to compete against many other top schools. The girls are very excited (and being Junior girls, think we are going next week!) but we know we are just starting the hard work. The time will pass by quickly and we look forward to sharing the results with you.
Thank you for supporting our fundraising ventures along the way!
