“It is brilliant. The teachers are nice, you learn heaps, and it is really fun.  I was made to feel good and welcome when I first started in Yr 2 because the teacher was very friendly, and all the girls looked after me.”

Bush Fire Fundraising

When we heard about the Victoria bush fires and saw all the people who had lost their family, friends and homes, we decided to raise $500 and also make a quilt for a girl who has lost everything. After school we put out a box with our thermometer and started to ask for donations. The first days were very successful.

We decided to make a heart patchwork quilt. Each girl made a heart. Our quilt included a rainbow design out of different coloured materials. Mrs Russell helped us sew the quilt together and it looks fantastic.

The first day of March was the Children’s Day Festival when we took the quilt to show the public. We also made sweets to sell. We sold 200 packets which was all of them and raised over $400 at this event.

Altogether we raised $765. We are very proud and cannot wait to send the quilt over to the girl and hope she enjoys it.
