Barnardos FUNdraising 2011

 barnados toni

Apart from being in the classroom, what could be more fun than throwing wet sponges at your teachers or trying to win cakes for a good cause.  Carncot senior students organised a fabulous few hours of fun activities and food as part of their annual activity to raise money for Barnardo’s children.  Carncot students and teachers have supported Barnados for 95 years through activities to raise funds for an organisation which looks after less fortunate families.

Christchurch Earthquake Fundraising

Our senior girls have once again done a superb job in organising the various fundraising activities to support the people of Christchurch, who are still suffering the effects of ongoing tremors.  The Red and Black Mufti day was a huge success with $359.80 raised.  Parents generously sent along sweets which were ‘bagged and bowed’ by Year 8 girls.  Sales of sweets at the Children’s Day Festival and back at school totalled $642.00.  Another wonderful effort.

Barndardo's Fundraising - 94 Years

Our giving is to Barnardo’s and we know, in turn, what a difference this will make for our local community charity. Importantly, our girls are learning about giving. They love to raise money and know that it is going to a good cause. This year we raised around $1684.

Loud Shirt Day

Loud Shirt Day is the annual appeal of The Hearing House and the Southern Cochlear Implant Paediatric Progamme.

Carncot was well-represented at Loud Shirt Day breakfast at Flavour and this year raised $191.00 from our mufti day, which was lots of fun - bright shirts and legs everywhere!

After school we put out a box with our thermometer and started to ask for donations. The first days were very successful.
