Carncot Trust Board Highlights for the Year to Date
The Trust Board is happy to report that for the 2011 year to date, Carncot School is performing both financially, but more importantly, educationally at or above our expectations.
Two years ago, the school developed and commenced executing its strategic plan: that Carncot is a school “where each girl is inspired to live an extraordinary life”.
Educationally, the Education Review Office (ERO Report 11/05/2011) has awarded to the school, probably the best report that is possible, with comments such as:
“…that students learn in a very high quality school property with ample learning resources”
“A strong focus on literacy and mathematics is made a priority. Key competencies, such as self management, support high expectations for behaviour”
“…school’s values of respect, responsibility, honesty, caring and integrity are highly evident in school practices”
“The board’s high expectations for students to experience effective teaching, continues to be a sustained strength of the school.”
“Students are confident and focused learners who strive for personal excellence. They are highly-engaged and value being challenged to take risks.”
Financially, we are forecasting to finish the year slightly better than budget. Active marketing and positive referrals from our Carncot support network have meant that our school roll has stabilised and we have enrolled 23 new students so far this year.
None of these achievements happen by accident. We are fortunate to have the commitment and support from our dedicated staff, parent body and our old girls’ network, the Friends of Carncot.
We look forward to reporting to you again in a few months time.

Chair, Carncot Trust Board
