“I like it how the teachers are friendly and always willing to help.  I enjoy going on the camps and there are always new and exciting things to do.  Carncot has good sports and the hockey team is great fun. It was good that so many of us got into the rep teams for hockey.”

Extraordinary Girls:  Living the Carncot Vision

Senior communication lecturer Dr Elizabeth Gray, has received the annual Richard Buchanan College of Business Teaching Excellence Award.  The judging panel was particularly impressed with Dr Gray’s continuous improvement philosophy in all aspects of her teaching. 

They said the evidence presented in Dr Gray’s teaching portfolio highlighted her dedication to teaching and exhibits all the hallmarks of an excellent teacher. 

“My work as a teacher is about helping students develop skills, understanding and imagination concerning the power of words, in an economic, intellectual and personal context.” she says.

Stasha Bakker was awarded dux of Freyberg High School coming top in all her five subjects classics, chemistry, physics, statistics and calculus.

Lise Bakker achieved the honour of Freyberg Scholar for the fourth year in a row, along with subject distinctions in English and Drama, and a number of service awards.

Rosie Clarke was awarded both the Dux Litterarum and the Dux Artium of Nga Tawa.

Lauren Knighton is Dux of St Peter’s.

Claudia Stothart won Dux Laudroum of Nga Tawa.

Kate Spencer Dux Laudorum of PNGHS

Maxie Ou Yang was awarded the Academic and Sporting Excellence prize at PNGHS

Alana Braddon-Parsons is the top Year 9 student at PNGHS.

Louisa Palmer is the top Year 9 student at Nga Tawa.

Sarah Hillocks is top in Year 10 at Nga Tawa.

Pearl Pan is top in Year 9 Humanities.

Hannah Welman and Georgia O’Brien (Year 9) and Giorgia Miller-Thevenard, Georgi Clarke and Bridget Watters (Year 10) all achieved in the top six academic placings, with Bridget first in Year 10 English.
