“I like it how the teachers are friendly and always willing to help.  I enjoy going on the camps and there are always new and exciting things to do.  Carncot has good sports and the hockey team is great fun. It was good that so many of us got into the rep teams for hockey.”

Survey

Dear past pupils, friends and family of Carncot

Friends of Carncot is conducting a survey of past Carncot pupils, friends and family. You not need to be a paid subscriber to FOC to complete the survey. The survey is designed to give FOC a better understanding of the needs of our members and non-members so we can provide the best services. The survey takes approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. Please feel free to forward the link on to your friends and family who have had any association with Carncot. If you, or someone you know, would like a PDF version or hard copy of the survey, or you have problems completing the survey, please email on: admin@carncot.school.nz or FOC@carncot.school.nz.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey.  The survey closes on 11 September 2010.

Friends of Carncot had two tables at the school Parents' Association Trivial Disputes evening last year.  It was so much fun and we are keen to do it again this year and try to beat our 2nd placing!  It is to be held on Saturday 6 November in the School Hall.  If you and a group of friends are keen to join us, please let us know by emailing FOC@carncot.school.nz.  Subject:  Trivial Disputes.

Registry and Newsletter

The Friends of Carncot continues to enjoy communication from past pupils.  In the process of compiling the FOC annual newsletter, we have had superb emails and updates from ex pupils who are doing exciting things, both in New Zealand and overseas.  The newsletter will go to print in June and will be available on the Carncot School website this year.  Our archivist, Corinne Rivoallan, created a past pupil registry and is now gathering informatin on girls'  lives and achievements since they left Carncot.  This is an on-going project.  Let past pupils know to get in touch with us with this information and remember to keep in touch yourselves when you have left Carncot.

Visits from Old Girls

Genevieve Whitson, a semi-professional cyclist, has returned from the UK to see family and to compete.  We were delighted that she made the time to come back to Carncot and to share her experiences at Assembly.  The senior girls also enjoyed a further question time with Genevieve and we were able to deepen our understanding of Carncot in former tgimes by listening to her stories.  Follow Genevieve on www.genwhitson.com.
